@atomicpoet it’s the correct spelling in most of the world except the USA.
#Life is hectic. Just paws for a moment. #Dog sitting two gorgeous #Golden #Labradors over #Christmas for a dear #village #neighbour. Was sitting with the young one, on her back, feet in the air, tickling her tummy. Couldn’t resist the #photograph. #DogsOfMastodon.
Sigh. Our media has become so Americanized they don't even use Canadian spelling anymore..
The elderly lady who is visiting the hospital next week for #chemotherapy treatment has now had a #FREE #gas #water #heater installed by our subcontractors.
This was totally free of any cost, with no charge under any circumstances to her, we now know that when she returns home after every treatment, she will have running hot water without the worry of covering the cost, or borrowing.
She is a lovely lady who deserves a break, her next door, #neighbour, called us and asked if we could help.
The surprisingly connected origins of "Husband" and "Neighbour".
That’s right, the #neighbour keeps #hens in his #garden and they’re really noisy, I’m going to have to close the #window. Oh it is closed.
6 months old! 34 kilograms! #GermanShepherd #Ransom #neighbour #love #peace #kisses #photography #puppy #DogsOfMastodon

With #scathing tongue, you #carve your memory on my soul. White #laundry on the line, #sapphire sky turns black.
They say hard knocks #forge you. But how can I love my #neighbour if I can't love myself?
Remembering how life once was #colourful, I spread my wings and stop #falling.

Protect the right to play musical instruments
Petition:
’Environmental Health officers (EHO) across the country have come to misinterpret the law on statutory nuisance. Statutory nuisance was meant to deal with matters such as people living next door to dog kennels, car racing tracks and night clubs - not domestic music playing.’
Development of a great network of #sleeper #trains across Europe as an alternative to #flying is something I'm really looking forward to trying!
I love the idea of them being far more sociable too, instead of the isolationist experience of flying.
Mind you, I am the #nightmare #neighbour on a flight. I tend to chat anyway, and I have very fond memories of a flight back from Paris a few years ago when we (me and a total stranger) laughed, chatted, and gesticulated an hour away much to the annoyance of other passengers who seemed to manage to remain seated despite the #broomsticks up their a**es. I think the cabin crew enjoyed it though.
Do you know your neighbours? I love mine .
When my 95yo next door #neighbour Carmella needs something, she raises and lowers her blind, like in a spy movie.
Here is a short list of reasons she has needed me in 2022:
- To pick some lemons from her tree for her, and some for my family as a gift.
- To get down the sugar she can’t reach, and find a new home lower on the shelf.
- To refill the ice tray in her freezer (clearly unused since the 70s).
- To stop mowing & drink the lemonade she made.
- To fix her satellite TV so she can watch shows in Italian at full volume and still strain to hear them.
- To turn off her smoke alarm (I was already rushing over because I heard it sounding).
- To pick some of her roses to give to my children.
- To replace batteries in the electric candle that sits in front of her husband’s portrait. He died 40 years ago.
- To restart her hot water service and heater (multiple times in the year).
- To replace a section of her rusting roof.
- To meet her three children, who have come down to visit her home (we are near the beach).
- To admire their jetskis.
- To say goodbye as they leave (right when the weather is cooling again).
- To sit and pray with her, as her arthritis is keeping her awake, and she saw I had a light on.
Keep an eye on your neighbours. If you have a chance to help them, it’ll benefit you at least as much as it benefits them.
