Le dessus des ailes du mâle est bleu vif avec une fine bordure noire et des franges blanches unies. Les mâles des générations estivales et automnales ont une nuance violette plus ou moins marquée. Le dessus des ailes des femelles est brun avec des lunules oranges marginales qui n'atteignent pas l'apex. Les femelles des générations suivantes ont parfois le dessus des ailes avec une suffusion bleue.<br>

Le dessus des ailes est blanc ou crème avec des plages noires. <br>
Au niveau de l'aile antérieure, la cellule discoïdale est blanche sans dessin noir. Le dessous des ailes est identique mais les plages noires sont nettement plus claires. <br>
On observe une série d'ocelles au niveau de la bande submarginale.<br>

Le dessus des ailes est de couleur chamois orangé avec des taches noires. L'apex des ailes antérieures est noir avec des taches blanches. Le dessous des ailes antérieures ressemble au dessus, mais avec une forte suffusion de rose. Le dessous des postérieures est marbré de brun clair et de blanc avec une série d'ocelles dans la partie marginale.<br>
